Scientific Space Art

Room 7 used their scientific skills and applied them to create a piece of space art. It was very exciting to see how the experiment changed over time and the chemical reactions!

Ingredients;
- PVA Glue
- Plastic Plates
- Food colouring
- Dish washing liquid

Visit to Okeover Stream

As part of our inquiry, Room 7 visited the Okeover Stream near the University to notice, observe and record our findings. We also measured the flow of the water using a stop watch and dog biscuits. We found out that the pace of the water changed depending on where it was in the stream.

Science

Superhero Self Portraits

Room 7 have been learning lots of new art skills to create a superhero themed self portrait. We have explored; crayon and dye, black pastel over coloured patterns and drawing moving figures.

STEAM Challenge

STEAM stands for..

During our STEAM challenges we have been using a variety of skills, especially communication and cooperation. We have enjoyed problem solving and being challenged to keep trying and not give up!

CUP PYRAMID : Engineering challenge
This challenge involved working in small groups to build a pyramid without using our hands! One key aspect of this challenge was working out how we could use the string and rubber bands to help move the cups. It was very tricky and included lots of problem solving.
